Blake Solegatti is the older sibling of Ashley Branch Solegatti. They grew up in Sunshire, a secret civilization, still living the ancient ways in the year 1986 CE (current era). They never knew of the outside world, except from their father, Nikolai's accounts of it, as he is a 'commonfolk' man who lived his life in Selene Valley before he met their mother, Eleanora, and came to Sunshire to live out the rest of his days.

After escaping Sunshire, they seek refuge in Nikolai's abandoned mansion only to find it occupied by other Sortileges, spurring a conflict between them all. Blake is assertive and fights for who and what he believes in, but he is too stubborn to see others' perspectives, and he lacks tact, fueling the fire of the conflict, which leads Nari to block-shield them.

Blake is fiercely protective over his younger sibling, as they're the only family he has left, and he views Ashley as a vulnerable kitten surrounded by vicious vultures out to hurt them. Blake keeps secrets from Ashley, believing he is protecting them.

Blake denies being a Sole-Wielder and disapproves of Ashley using Sole-Wielder Majique, deeming it dangerous. He also dislikes discussing 'Sunshire' and wants to burn all ties to their past. Blake aspires to be like their 'commonfolk' father, Nikolai Sabatini, whom he learned about the commonfolk world from, along with his carpentry skills. Though Blake still has a lot to learn about the outside world.

Blake has a softer, more vulnerable side, as shown when he is around Andreas, who points out that he is just as naive as Ashley, which he denies because he doesn't want to be viewed that way.
